Twenty Things to be Thankful for this Holiday Season

We are all allowed to mourn during this unsettling time, but we must not be overwhelmed by our complaints so we can acknowledge the importance of family and the beauty of life’s simple pleasures. Here are 20 things to be thankful for going into this holiday season.

  1. Warm, fluffy blankets that swallow you alive
  2. Your pet (if you have one, if not, then other people’s pets)
  3. There’s actually snow this winter
  4. Your health
  5. Random texts from friends you don’t talk to often enough
  6. Morning sunlight peeking through curtain blinds
  7. Mozzarella cheese stretches
  8. A warm cup of tea, coffee, cocoa, or whatever you like to drink
  9. Just 5 minutes of calm and zen
  10. Allowing your head to freefall to the pillow at night
  11. Your favorite restaurant
  12. When an artist that you like drops a new album (s/o to my girl Tay Tay)
  13. That helpless feeling of euphoria when you literally can’t stop laughing
  14. Midnight movie marathons (or just the chance to watch your favorite nostalgic shows)
  15. Fresh out of the oven, slightly steaming chocolate chip cookies with a cold glass of milk
  16. When Christmas lights twinkle at night and the Christmas tree produces a majestic aura
  17. The great hair day exactly one day after washing your hair
  18. When you flip the page on a good book and the paper makes THAT sound
  19. Steaming hot showers that burn in a good way
  20. The fact that this pandemic will eventually be over and we can all go to the movies and eat at restaurants and see our friends and breathe fresh air and blast “Mask Off” by Future 🙂

We at heads up teens wish you a warm and grateful holiday season.
